CEOE Superintendent Test

The CEOE Superintendent Test requires a full day to complete, involving two case study assignments (10 percent each), as well as a multiple-choice section (60 percent), an instructional leadership assignment (10 percent), and an essay on educational management (10 percent).

A superintendent is expected to know how to use human relations skills to facilitate decisions, how to aptly develop and communicate an effective district vision that understands diversity, that vision's role in the greater context of education, and how to facilitate implementation and promote community support.

In addition, the test requires knowledge of human development, learning, instruction techniques and planning, and how to promote professional growth.

The test requires knowledge of organizational, operational, and resource management (human resources, budgeting, physical plant/auxiliary services).

The CEOE Superintendent Test constructed responses weigh the response's validity, its implementation of pertinent knowledge of the field, clarity, organization, rationale, and technical proficiency.
