CEOE Secondary Principal Specialty Test

The CEOE Secondary Principal Specialty Test looks at three areas of school leadership as integral to the responsibilities of the secondary principal. Leadership in ideals, instruction, and the pragmatic organization and operation of facilities all play significant roles in the test.

To prepare, review school vision: development, articulation, stewardship, and implementation. Moreover, know how to promote community collaboration, and be able to use human relations skills to solve problems, know the importance of diversity in the school vision, and understand how a school relates to its context.

The CEOE Secondary Principal Specialty Test has two constructed-response assignments. Each worth 15 percent of the total (multiple-choice questions are worth 70 percent), they prompt for implementation of knowledge in instructional leadership and educational management. Review these areas, with particular attention to human resources and the promotion of professional growth within school culture.
