The CEOE Severe-Profound/Multiple Disabilities Test addresses types of severe and profound disabilities and the effects they have on students and education, including medical management and the characteristics needed in these students' educators. The test also focuses on using assessment tools for these types of students in the creation and implementation of IEPs and IFSPs.
Test takers should also be able to demonstrate various methods of establishing a beneficial learning environment, including research-based strategies and techniques.
Test takers should be aware of ways to create a collaborative learning community with school, home, and agencies, for which a background in the history of special education is required.
The test consists of a constructed-response section (15 percent of total grade) and a multiple-choice section (85 percent).
