The CEOE Principal Common Core Test includes a four-answer, multiple-choice section, accounting for 70 percent of the total grade. In addition, the test includes two case studies requiring written assignments, each weighted at 15 percent. The multiple-choice portion gives credit for right answers only, with no deductions for wrong marks. If in doubt, guess.
The CEOE Principal Common Core Test essays provide a situation before prompting for an appropriate, effective response. Answers are graded on how much of the problem the proposed solution will most likely solve, as well as the accuracy, relevance, and rationale of the knowledge provided in support of the solution.
The case studies focus on school vision - planning, promotion, leadership, implementation, coordination, and communication of that vision. The rest of the test focuses on how to apply instructional theory to an educational system, and its organizational, operational, and resource management.
