CEOE Physical Education/Health/Safety Test Practice Questions
The CEOE Physical Education/Health/Safety Test covers the following topics:
- Growth and development - major body systems, particularly how movement is produced and the effects of exercise, motor development, movement skills acquisition, development (cognitive, social, emotional), role of education
- Health concepts - wellness and factors, short-term and long-term effects of healthy/detrimental behavior, social/emotional health and factors, consumer/community health and factors
- Health-related physical fitness - components and principles of training, including activities/concepts for cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular strength/endurance, and flexibility
- Movement and sports - fundamental motor skills; biochemical concepts; development of locomotor, non-locomotor, and body-control skills; rhythmic and manipulative skills; various individual, dual and team sports (rules, tactics, safety)
- Instruction - planning and implementation
- Physical and health education setting -management/communication, assessments, foundation, professional growth
The test includes an essay regarding movement and sports, which is worth 15 percent. Multiple-choice questions constitute the remainder of the test.
