The CEOE Middle Level Social Studies Test has a multiple-choice section with 80 questions, each with four answer choices (85 percent of the final grade). The remaining 15 percent comes in the form of a constructed-response section.
The constructed-response and multiple-choice sections of the test cover the political, social, economic, and technological influences of world history. Subjects focused on include Native American societies, colonization of the Americas, America from the Revolutionary War to the present, and Oklahoma history.
Additionally, the multiple-choice questions target knowledge in United States government and economics, geography, tools of study, as well as influencing processes (sociological, cultures, populations, and physical). Finally, research skills, including a foundation in social studies information (collection, analysis, and use) and skills/communication, are required.
