CEOE Journalism Test

CEOE Journalism Test Practice Questions

The CEOE Journalism Test has two main components - writing and multiple-choice. The writing component often provides information and context about which the test taker is expected to compose a story. It is worth 15 percent of the test score. The multiple-choice section contains 80 questions, worth 85 percent of the test score, and demands an understanding of Journalism's social context and style of written communication. The test also covers photography, radio, and television mediums as they apply to the field, as well as student publications. Prepare by reviewing the following areas:

• Social context - history of mass media, its functions and influence, and both legal and ethical considerations
• Written communication - newsworthiness, critical evaluation of news, and writing preparation/process/editing
• Visual mediums - photojournalism, visual elements in a publication, layout and design, as well as broadcast journalism
• Student publications - management and production (financing, personnel, technology, and budgeting)
