CEOE Family and Consumer Sciences Test
The CEOE Family and Consumer Sciences Test contains a multiple-choice section, which accounts for 85 percent of the test score, and a written response, which accounts for the remaining 15 percent. It tests knowledge of the following seven areas:
- Child development and care - characteristics/care of infants, toddlers, preschool, school-age, and special-needs children
- Food science and nutrition - food customs and choices, product information, meal planning, etiquette, kitchen management
- Consumer economics and personal resource management - consumer rights, responsibilities, and protections, purchase/service choice procedures, personal and family finance
- Housing and interior design - housing/living considerations, adaptations for individual/family
- Relationships - adult well-being, interpersonal, parenting, family welfare
- Clothing - function, wardrobe planning, textiles, clothing creation
- Career and leadership - family/consumer career options, skills for seeking/maintaining employment, vocational student organizations
The CEOE Family and Consumer Sciences Test written section (15 percent) requires the application of knowledge regarding food science and nutrition.
