CEOE Earth Science Test
The CEOE Earth Science Test has two sections: an 80-question multiple-choice section, which is worth 85 percent of the total grade, and the constructed-response section, which is an essay worth the remaining 15 percent of the test grade. The written portion is related to foundations of scientific inquiry, while the multiple-choice questions may be taken from any of the following subject areas:
- Foundations of scientific inquiry - relationships between math, science, and technology; context of earth science; scientific process; natural resources; physical and mathematical models; equipment
- Space systems - earth, sun, and moon (composition, interaction); solar system, stars and method of study; Milky Way galaxy; universe
- Atmospheric systems - earth's atmosphere, water, phase changes, weather systems, climatic regions, human activity
- Geological systems - geochemical, earth's structure, processes of change, time divisions/theories
- Water systems - hydrologic system, processes of water movement, oceans
