CEOE Computer Science Test

The CEOE Computer Science Test has two sections - multiple-choice and constructed (written) response.

The multiple-choice section is weighted as 85 percent of the total grade and covers the following four major topics:

Knowledge regarding use of technology in education
Computer systems - basic terminology and characteristics of computer make-up, operating systems, networks, social aspects of computing
Program design - principles, procedures, modularization/data encapsulation, algorithms in high-level languages, development and implementation
Programming and testing - programming languages in general (types, characteristics) and the following aspects of high-level languages: statements, operators, and control structures; data types, structures, and abstraction mechanisms

The CEOE Computer Science Test constructed-response question (15 percent) requires the demonstration of a conceptual understanding of code analysis, program testing, and documentation. Written responses are graded on a four-point scale for relevance, accuracy, support, and rationale.
