CEOE Biological Sciences Test
The CEOE Biological Sciences Test can best be studied by looking through past course materials and identifying these five areas:
- Foundation of science - commonalities between sciences and relationship between science and technology, historical and current biological study, scientific process (theoretical, applied, and technical)
- Cells - basic chemistry and biochemistry, role of elements and compounds, cell structures, types of cells, photosynthesis, cellular respiration, cell cycles and reproduction (eukaryotes and prokaryotes)
- Genetics - DNA/RNA, procedures of genetic engineering (basic and applied research), classical and molecular genetics, natural selection, biological adaptation, taxonomy
- Organisms - matter and energy, foundations of life and organization of organisms, regulatory processes, life cycles, human biology
- Ecology - populations and communities (growth and interactions), ecosystems/biodomes, flow of matter/energy, human ecology/human impact
The CEOE Biological Sciences Test has both multiple-choice (85 percent) and written-response (15 percent) sections.
