CEOE Art Test

The CEOE Art Test requires a bird's-eye view of art across time, cultures, disciplines, and technical knowledge. To prepare:

Know the techniques, materials, and tools for drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, nontraditional art forms, crafts, and folk arts.
Know the use of line, color, value, texture, shape, form, and space.
Comprehend art as communication, as well as the principles of design.
Comprehend art across time, including Ancient, Medieval, Renaissance, and Baroque periods, and nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
Be familiar with art across geographical boundaries, including the Americas, Asia, Africa, Oceanic, and Islamic cultures.
Be able to analyze the relationship between art and society, human development, and other disciplines and art forms.
Comprehend common themes.
Understand theories of art - functions, purposes, and philosophies.

The CEOE Art Test is primarily multiple-choice (85 percent) with a free-response question (15 percent).
